The following is a guide to assist consumers and travel agents with their bookings:

Consumers who have booked direct with Zoom Airlines and not through a registered Ontario travel retailer:

There is no provision under Ontario Regulation 26/05 made under the Travel Industry Act, 2002 for a consumer to claim on the Compensation Fund when they have purchased air travel directly with the airline.


Consumers who have purchased Zoom Airlines travel services from a registered Ontario travel agency:
Consumers are advised to contact their travel agent for information with respect to alternate travel arrangements. Consumers and/or travel agents may contact TICO to request a claim form at 1-888-451-8426 or (905) 624-6241 or email tico@tico.ca


Travel agents who have purchased ITC packages and/or air only from an Ontario tour operator/travel wholesaler:
Travel agents are instructed to contact the appropriate tour operator/travel wholesaler to obtain instructions with respect to obtaining a refund or information regarding alternate travel arrangements for consumers in destination or with immediate departures.


Responsibility of Ontario Registrants who have sold Zoom Airlines travel services as part of a package:
Registrants are reminded that under Section 46 of Ontario Regulation 26/05 they are required to either reimburse the consumer or provide alternate (replacement) travel services at no additional cost to the consumer when they have acquired the right to travel services for the purpose of resale to other registrants or customers.
Section 46 of Ontario Regulation 26/05 states as follows:
“If a registrant acquires rights to travel services for resale to other registrants or to customers and the supplier fails to provide travel services paid for by a customer, the registrant who acquired the rights for resale shall reimburse the customer or provide comparable alternate travel services acceptable to the customer.”
